Ex-presidente segue com larga vantagem em relação a Bolsonaro - Ricardo Stuckert

A new poll ordered by BTG Bank and produced by the communication company FSB was released this Sunday (August 7). The survey points out that former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Workers’ Party) is still heading the polls with 41% of voter support.

He is followed by current President Jair Bolsonaro (Liberal Party), with 34%. The difference between the two presidential candidates fell 6 percentage points, since Lula had 44% (a decrease of 3 percentage points) of voter support in the previous survey, and Brazil’s president had 31% (a rise of 3 percentage points).

:: The deadline for conventions for choosing candidates ends today ::

Former Minister Ciro Gomes (Democratic Labor Party) reached 7% of voter support (a decrease of 2 percentage points), and senator Simone Tebet has 3% (a rise of 1 percentage point). The poll shows that the other candidates scored between 0% and 1%. Voters who will not vote for any presidential candidate are 2% of the total. Those who do not know who to vote for are 3%.

In an eventual second turn, Lula has 51% of the votes, and Bolsonaro has 39%. As in the first round, the study points to a drop of 3 percentage points for Lula and a rise of 3 percentage points for Bolsonaro.

The poll interviewed 2,000 voters between August 5 and 7. It was registered in the Brazilian Superior Electoral Court under the number BR-08028/2022. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points, and the confidence index is 95%. This poll had a total cost of 128,957.83 reais (about US$ 25,122) and was paid by BTG Pactual Bank.
