Celebrating 22 years of resistance as one of the world’s leading counter-hegemonic journalism outlets, Brasil de Fato launches its new website on Monday (17). As a result of the union of popular movements, the newspaper has established itself as a Brazilian reference in the coverage of struggles for socio-environmental and political rights.
The new space features an updated design, emphasizing multiplatform production, and an optimized experience for readers, highlighting in-depth reporting and the popular view. “The new website was urgent, given the quantity and variety of content produced by our newspaper,” says Nina Fideles, Executive Director of Brasil de Fato. “Now, the public can access our investigations, denunciations, podcasts, and documentaries and follow our actions in the fight against human rights violations in one place. We’ve created a space for people to get informed without depending on algorithms and corporate interests, guaranteeing direct access to the news,” she stated.
This new home features a redesigned layout that offers easy and intuitive access to a wide range of content. Brasil de Fato, with newsrooms in nine Brazilian states and correspondents in countries such as Russia, China, Venezuela, and Cuba, guarantees a broad and diverse perspective on global events.
The new website values news as well as video and audio formats, including podcasts, documentaries, and special reports. The editorials have been updated to reflect the thematic richness of the coverage, addressing relevant issues with depth and social commitment.
“With new editorials and a more appropriate organization of our content, the idea is that our readers, especially the most frequent ones, who represent 40% of our audience, will be able to access it and stay on our website longer,” explains Rodrigo Chagas, Editorial Coordinator of Brasil de Fato.
Monyse Ravena, Audio and Video Coordinator of Brasil de Fato, points out: “We aim to provide readers with a platform that engages and resonates with the diversity of voices and perspectives that make up our country, besides being not only informed.”
In addition to improving the experience for regular readers, the new website aims to attract new audiences. “We also hope to generate greater engagement among those specific audiences who find us through organic search or social media, so they can learn more about our production and consider us a reference for coverage,” says Chagas.
Amid a surge of fake news, the outlet is reinforcing its mission to be a reliable source of information, offering quality content that represents and resonates with its readers. The new website’s redesign aims to strengthen this commitment, facilitating access to trustworthy and in-depth information.
“I invite you to access Brasil de Fato daily and to value journalism that has the public interest as its priority and the fight against all monopolies, as its mission. For us, ethics trumps the logic of profit,” concludes Fideles.
